What I hate about iPhone storage management

That you can’t just go and clear the cache of an app within the settings menu. The only app that allows it so far is Safari (I have not checked other browsers on the phone yet). Some apps let you delete app-cache and date within the app, as seen on discord. Other apps like BlueSky and YouTube you have to uninstall and re-install to get the cache cleared.

Screenshot of the Discord developer options which show the clear cache option.

If you want to clear system cache – files that can’t be found in the Files App you have to reset the entire phone. If you don’t save a lot of files or back them up to a local storage like a NAS, an external SSD/HDD or a PC/Mac.

You could of course save it to iCloud if you are happy with 5GB or pay for more storage. To be fair I reset my phone just the other day with just my system-data and apps backed up not my files since they get uploaded to a NAS in my local network. The process of getting it all set up as you had if prior to the reset is very easy and works great (if you haven’t changed your phone number or forgot to log out of a mac you don’t have access to any more)
